Who am I?
Hi, I am a sociology major studying for my Bachelour of Honours at York University in Toronto. I’m born and raised in Norway. My main interests lie within the study of power by Marx and Foucault, as well as various sociological theories established by people such as Stuart Hall, Trotsky, Marx, and Weber. I mainly do most of my writings through skeptic analysis, however I’m an optimist when it comes down to it.
Furthermore, I am interested in the field of “public sociology”, the branch of sociology that seeks to break out of the academic internalization of knowledge, and engage the wider general audience in its presentation and formulation, as well as its relevance to Marx’s notion of “consciousness”. In other words, if people are made aware of the social constructions and conditions that contemporary society encompasses, how will they react and define themselves within the broader context?
